According to the Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson, Mao Ning, both countries have decided to create favorable conditions for improving bilateral ties during their meeting in Russia.
On September 12, in St. Petersburg, Chinese official Wang Yi and Indian NSA Ajit Doval met to talk about border issues. They agreed to follow through on past agreements and work on improving their relationship.
China said that disengagement has been achieved in four key areas, including Galwan Valley, and that the border situation is stable.
Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar mentioned that about 75% of the disengagement issues have been resolved but highlighted ongoing militarization as a problem.
